Our Story

Virginutty Philippine Coconut Oil London

Hi, we’re Virginutty, a coconut oil skincare and wellness brand based in London. We aim to empower the minority and to empower the coconut.

We create natural, raw, vegan, pure-enough-to-eat skincare based on Philippine coconut oil that nourishes your body from head to toes.

Our British-Filipino founder, Melissa, first fell in love with coconut oil whilst exploring her roots in the Philippines. Fed up of carcinogenic ingredients and whitening chemicals in drugstore skincare products, she became determined to develop an honest, natural skincare solution that would honour her roots and be effective for people with sensitive skin.

Melissa travelled around the islands to find the very best coconuts, and decided she needed to share the archipelago's best-kept secret with Europe. The rest, as they say, is coconut oil.

About Virginutty

Uniquely Filipino, with British Roots

Virginutty's premium skincare uses exclusively Philippine virgin coconut oil and quality raw natural ingredients, batch produced and hand bottled in London.  We are cruelty free, paraben free and vegan.

Conscious and Green

Our coconut oil is sustainably produced, fair trade and 100% organic. Our packaging is recyclable, with labels created from food waste.

Empowering Minorities

Virginutty works with Filipino, Southeast Asian and ethnic minority models with island cultural heritages to celebrate the native roots of the coconut.

Our Mission

We want to remain as transparent as we can with our consumers and collaborators - as transparent as our coconut oil above room temperature.

Because Virginutty is a startup, there are certain costs that we cannot yet afford, but are actively working towards, such as registering for organic and fair trade certification in the UK. In the meantime, our suppliers are fair trade and organic certified in the Philippines and in the US.

Our long-term vision is that we want to give back. To the Philippines, to the farmers, to the earth. We founded this brand with socially conscious visions for the future - including supporting our young customers, grassroots organisations, and perhaps even having our own farm one day. But nothing that comes easy is worth it, and nothing that’s worth it comes easy. It’s all a work in progress - we’re still on that journey.

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions - we’re happy to answer them. You can contact us over here.
